She sat up in bed, the dark sheets puddled around her waist, kept in place by the surprisingly light metal arm that held her firmly but gently. She couldn't help but smile at the man beside her... how peaceful he looked in sleep, with no worries or battle plans that usually creased his face in consciousness. She almost felt like a child with her face pressed up against the glass window of a candy shop, wanting to savor the sweets kept securely within the doors. But she would wait until opening time. He was more than worth the wait.

The moonlight that streamed through the windows of his room bathed them both in a solitary ray, casting a soft silver luminescence upon her pale skin and his equally pale hair. *Like a halo, almost.* she mused to herself. The thought of Cable as any type of angel struck her immediately as amusing, even though it did bring about a tinge of truth. In her eyes, at least.

*He really is beautiful.* she thought to herself, tilting her head so slightly to look at his closed eyes. They barely moved, fluttering every once in a while, as though he might awaken at any moment solely to see her, to kiss her as he did on those precious mornings they were able to spend together. His mere presence brought such a comfort, fitting into her own heart like yin and yang. If anyone had asked about her feelings towards him, she would have probably answered, "I'm kind of attached to the oaf, yeah." And then she would have smiled that smile, the one in Nathan's eyes that was equivalent to the sun and the sky. It was a cliché that they were even together: two of a kind, content with the simple knowledge that they were entwined as one soul.

She had never expected this. The laws of probability worked in such mysterious ways sometimes, even for Domino. *Never can tell who'll you'll end up loving.* As far as she was concerned, the world could spin off into oblivion, and she and Nathan, as newborn stars, would look down upon the remnants of their earthly lives and be happy, because they had been there together.

Reaching into her mind as he had taught her, she felt his warm presence back in its own little place, neither here nor there, but always right beside her, always with her. Looking back at the window, she saw that dawn was approaching: he would soon awaken to greet her as he did every morning. He would open his eyes and see her there, waiting for him. The feelings of pure contentment would flow through to her, and her sun would truly rise, no matter how gloomy the day. He would wrap his arms around her, a few moments of grace before life wrapped its arms around them. No matter how far apart they were separated by reality, he would never again have an excuse for forgetting to call. How could he? She was and always would be a mind, heart, and soul away. Always. And if for some pathetic excuse he did, he knew the consequences: a booted female foot would waste no time in connecting itself with his ass.
